Full Circle and the cycle of good, fast, slow, and creative energy. For me, a full circle requires these things: an inspiring space, good people, and passions that push you. For me that space is where I live in Squamish BC, the people are members of this community including Michael Overbeck and Celeste Pomerantz, and the passions involve two wheels + creativity through art and photography.

There’s something so special about pushing yourself on a bike. Fresh air streaming past your face, a burn in your thighs, the release of endorphins, it’s one of the best ways to feel alive in the present moment and puts so much of life into perspective. Chasing these moments alone and with good friends is paramount to the happiness I’ve found in my own life and for the balance of energy I need for photography and art. I don’t think you can be the best version of yourself without this kind of chase, the chase of being fully present, at least I can’t.

A lot of people in my life think I am just go, go, go, but realistically the calm and alone moments between these physically demanding ones account for so much of my time and are critical for me to find balance to recharge social and physical energy. It’s these calm moments after the physical ones where I truly find the time and space to create.

Being in Squamish, I have been so fortunate to be surrounded by a group of people who want to push themselves just as hard or harder than myself. Life is complicated and I definitely don’t have it figured out. But this full circle has brought me the balance I’ve always wanted.
